ROBERT’S HAUL OFF
Dumpster Rental FAQ
Answers about sizes, delivery, loading, pickup, and rental terms.
How do I know which dumpster size I need?
Compare our 13-yard, 17-yard, and 21-yard dumpsters on the Dumpster Options page. The best fit depends on both the volume and weight of the material. Choose Not Sure / Help Me Choose on the quote form and describe your project if you need guidance.
How much does a rental cost?
Dumpster size, rental length, disposal weight, delivery location, and materials affect the price. See the Pricing page and request a quote for your project. Your quote will state the rental price and applicable terms before you book.
Can you deliver to my address?
Service is checked for each delivery address, including access and placement needs. Include the location in your quote request. See the Service Area page for the communities we serve.
Can I load concrete or roofing shingles?
Concrete and roofing shingles can become heavy before a dumpster looks full. Discuss these materials before loading; they may require different loading or pricing arrangements. Your quote will explain the applicable weight terms.
How long can I keep the dumpster?
Your rental period will be listed clearly on your quote before you book. Include how long you expect your project to take when requesting a quote.
Can I extend my rental?
Contact Robert’s Haul Off before your scheduled pickup to discuss extra time. Availability and any additional rental charges need to be confirmed before an extension.
How much space is needed for delivery?
Each dumpster has a 7′ × 14′ footprint. The delivery truck needs additional room and clearance to place and retrieve it. Describe gates, slopes, overhead wires, tree branches, and tight access in your quote request so the placement can be reviewed.
Can a dumpster be placed in a driveway?
Driveway placement depends on the surface, slope, access, and available space. Include those details in your request and discuss placement and surface protection before delivery.
Can I put concrete, dirt, or shingles in the dumpster?
Ask before loading concrete, dirt, masonry, or shingles. These materials can be heavy even in small volumes and may require different loading arrangements. Do not assume that the full dumpster capacity is appropriate for a heavy load.
What materials are prohibited?
Do not load hazardous chemicals, fuels, asbestos, hazardous waste, or other regulated hazardous materials. Paint, liquids, and unusual items also need review before loading. See the Materials page for generally accepted, ask-before-loading, and restricted categories.
Can material stick above the top of the dumpster?
Keep material within the dumpster, with nothing projecting above the top. Follow the loading instructions for your rental; heavy materials may require a lower loading level.
Do I need to be home for delivery?
Confirm whether someone needs to be present when arranging delivery. Clear placement instructions and access details are needed, including how the driver can reach the agreed location.
Do I need to be home for pickup?
Confirm attendance and access arrangements when scheduling pickup. The driver needs a clear route to the dumpster, including access through any gates.
Can I move the dumpster after delivery?
Do not attempt to move the dumpster yourself. Contact Robert’s Haul Off if the placement needs to change. Relocation options and any applicable charges must be confirmed.
What happens if the dumpster is too heavy?
Weight terms are included with your quote. A heavy load may need material removed or different handling before pickup; review the applicable arrangements and charges with Robert’s Haul Off. Discuss heavy materials before loading.
What if the driver cannot access the dumpster?
Keep the approach clear of parked vehicles, locked gates, and other obstructions. If access changes, contact Robert’s Haul Off before the scheduled visit to discuss access and any necessary rescheduling. Review any applicable terms in your rental quote.
Do I need a permit?
Requirements depend on the location and placement, especially on a street or other public property. Check with the relevant local authority or property manager and confirm responsibility for any required permission before booking.
What areas do you serve?
Robert’s Haul Off serves the Anna and Van Alstyne area and surrounding North Texas communities, including Melissa, McKinney, Sherman, and more. The Service Area page lists our service communities. Availability is confirmed for each delivery address.
How far ahead should I request a dumpster?
Request a quote as soon as you know your preferred delivery date, especially if your timing is fixed. Delivery depends on scheduling and equipment availability. Submitting a request does not reserve a dumpster.
How do I request pickup?
Contact Robert’s Haul Off with your rental location and preferred pickup date. Confirm the pickup arrangements and keep the dumpster accessible for the driver.
Can I put concrete or dirt in the dumpster?
Discuss concrete or dirt before loading. Their weight may require different loading levels or disposal arrangements. Describe the material and amount in your quote request so the rental terms can account for the load.
Can I load roofing shingles?
Ask before loading roofing shingles. Shingles are heavy and may require different loading or pricing arrangements. Include the roofing material and scope of the work in your quote request.
Can I rent a dumpster for a home renovation?
Yes. Roll-off dumpsters suit many remodeling projects, including flooring removal, wood, and non-hazardous construction debris. Compare sizes based on your project and review the Materials page before loading.
Can I use one for a garage or estate cleanout?
Yes. Garage cleanouts, household junk, furniture, and estate or property cleanup are common uses. Choose a size based on the volume and material involved, or select Not Sure / Help Me Choose when requesting a quote.
